Co-ment is an online collaboration and text editing tool. Through this application, users can work together on texts in many different formats. They can either import or export their work to Co-ment. From there, users can highlight selections, insert their comments, annotate sections or edit the text. Additionally, users can input their Co-ment text from the web app into the HTML for their website. Since the Co-ment app is a collaboration tool, the administrator for the app can assign roles to those who are invited to work on the document. Users can also review the history of a document and see who edited it and what changes were made by whom over time. The author of a document can also receive alerts from their document as to who contributed to and who edited the text. Co-ment provides activity reports. Finally, Co-ment offers a secure connection using SSL-encryption.

Co-ment is developed and maintained by a French company called Sopinspace. It was designed by Isabelle Dubois.

Co-ment is a pretty basic application, but it does have a lot of different capabilities. The app is fairly intuitive and easy to use. Its design is quite basic and uninteresting however, overall the app functions as it should. There were no bugs or issues encountered during this review. There was no advertising spotted on the app which was a pleasant site for something that is free and open-source.

To register as a user for Co-ment, users can click on the "Try" link located on the app's header. From there they will need to input their name, email, organization name, username, password, designate a Co-ment site address, and indicate their subscription plan.

Co-ment offers a free trial of their app for 48 hours. From there, a 1 month subscription for schools is 5 €. A 12-month school subscription is 42 €. A 1 month standard subscription costs 10 €. Finally, a 12-month standard subscription costs 84 €.
